Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
For the editorial team
The editorial team is allowed to use a local AI (artificial intelligence) model and/or an enterprise-grade frontier AI model for certain daily editorial tasks only (e.g., replying to emails and automatically checking the submission's administrative completeness). All other tasks, particularly in handling the evaluation of the authors’ manuscripts and intellectual property, as well as the decision regarding the submission, will be handled directly by the editorial team.
For reviewers
At any stage of the review process, the reviewer is not allowed to upload any part of the authors’ submitted manuscript to an AI model, including a local AI model. The review should be done by the human reviewers themselves. The reviewer may use a local/cloud AI model only to improve the clarity of the English in their own written review comments.
For authors
Authors submitting their work to Jurnal Manajemen Pemasaran (JMP) are solely accountable for the fundamental integrity and precision of their market and/or marketing research work. Since our journal operates under the “human-in-the-loop” principle, we encourage authors to use AI responsibly as an augmented tool in supporting their intellectual labor.
JMP permits AI for ideation and technical improvements. These may include, but are not limited to, hypothesis formulation, method development, and improving the clarity of the discussion. Nevertheless, the authors themselves should critically lead and review these core intellectual contributions. Generative AI tools must not be used to create, alter, or manipulate research figures, images, or data visualizations unless specifically required as part of the research methodology. In all circumstances, the authors should disclose specifically the AI model used (including tool name and exact purpose) in the methods or in the acknowledgment section of their manuscript.
Our journal complies with international ethical standards for authorship, stating that AI cannot be listed as an author or co-author. This policy is to safeguard human agency and high ethical standards to maintain quality research.
